SPAIN: Alfonso XII, 1874-1885, AV 25 pesetas, 1876, KM-673, DEM mintmaster, 1962 official restrike, mintage 6,000, PCGS graded MS66. In 1962 Spain's government mint in Madrid entered into an agreement with a private company, American Investment Trust of Vaduz (Liechtenstein), to produce restrikes of 10, 20, 25, and 100-peseta gold coins using the original dies from Alfonso XII and Alfonso XIII coinage. There are a total of 12 types and these restrikes are considered official Spanish government issues and are catalogued in all major reference guides.
