UNITED STATES:1904, brass medal, H&K-306, "So-Called Dollar", octagonal flan, SOUVENIR COIN OF ADMISSION above crowned bust of Louis IX resembling that on the Isabella quarter commemorative, dates 1803-1903 either side // LOUISIANA PURCHASE SOUVENIR COIN Co. SAINT LOUIS, date 1904 divided below map of the United States with purchase area outlined, flags of USA and France below American eagle, unique serial number stamped within oval space below, set of three pieces with consecutive serial numbers, 28202, 28203, 28204 graded MS-64 DPL, MS-63 DPL, and MS-64 DPL, respectively, set of 3 medals, all R. The organizers of these round and octagonal souvenir "coins" apparently disappeared after failing to secure either concession privileges or recognition at the fair, and coin-souvenir dealers bought up the octagonal issue, according to the 1963 Hibler-Kappen edition.
