MUGHAL: Akbar I, 1556-1605, AR square rupee (11.12g), Jaunpur, AH972, KM--, mint name unclear, but very likely, as it is very similarly arranged as round gold coins of Jaunpur, VF, RRR, ex Stephen Album Auction 6, Lot 720. According to Jan Lingen (posted on Zeno): "The right-hand side image differs not from the usual silver or gold issues. I haven't been able to find a die-identical type to pin-point it to a certain mint. The odd shape and use of gold dies would indicate that it was produced for a particular purpose. Perhaps for presentation or nazar".
Estimate: 200-300 USD
