BUWAYHID: Jalal al-Dawla, 1012-1044, AR dirham (3.08g), al-Basra, AH412, A-1582D, Treadwell--, citing the full titulature of the ruler, al-malik al-'adil rukn al-din jalal al-dawla wa jamal al-milla wa nasir al-umma abu tahir, appears to have once been lighly polished, extremely rare, probably unique, VF, RRRR. The only coin of Jalal al-Dawla known to Treadwell was the unique gold dinar of Madinat al-Salam dated 435, but since then dirhams of 406 and 407 have surfaced (both probably unique), and now we have 412. From some point after 415, all coins of the Iraqi mints were struck in the name of Abu Kalijar (except for the unique dinar of Madinat al-Salam 435, on which he is cited merely as Abu Tahir).
