GREAT MONGOLS: temp. Ögedei, 1227-1241, AV dinar (3.35g), Qara Qorum, ND, A-B1967, Arabic text, starting with al-urdu al-a'zam followed by several unread words, likely Uighur in Arabic script, mint name KWRM in Uighur below (=Qorum) // kalima, traces of marginal legends on both side, about 15% flat strike, one flan crack, Fine to VF, RRR. Five pieces are listed on Zeno, but full interpretation remains unclear - see Zeno-173917 & 139310 for further information. Qara Qorum was located in Mongolia and was the administrative capitol of the Great Mongols before they moved their capital to China in 1260. The date on other pieces has very tentatively been read as AH635, but this cannot yet be confirmed.
