Mexico City, Mexico, cob 4 reales, Philip V, assayer not visible, housed in custom frame with original certificate, very rare and desirable provenance. KM-40. 21-3/4" x 13-3/4". Solid and apparently uncorroded specimen mounted shield-side out and typically upside-down in its own niche below a drawing of a ship model and above its original certificate signed by Barry Clifford and other company officers as from a limited release to investors by Clifford (and not intended to be re-sold), one of only five official specimens we have offered, each of which has seen aggressive bidding due to the desirability of its famous, fully established pirate provenance. Housed in custom frame with original certificate #61121 signed by Barry Clifford. Whydah, sunk in 1717 off Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Estimate: $4000-8000
