SNG BN (France) 333-335 var. (obv. legend). SNG Levante 106. SNG Levante Supplement 20. Mint State, but reverse struck slightly off center, and eagle flatly struck; minty surfaces with iridescent toning; sharply struck, with irregular edge at 11' (occurred during striking). Fine style. Superb, and desirable example of this impressive type.
This type was struck primarily to pay mercenaries and is quite a common coin. Nonetheless, its impressive design makes it very popular with collectors, and this example despite its uneven flan is far more beautiful than most.
