Napoleon I. Consulate (1799-1804). National Column in Place Vendome silver Medal L'An XIII (1800) MS62 NGC, Bramsen-61, Julius-835, by Duvivier. 41.5mm. An exceptionally large and attractive Napoleonic silver medal. Truly one for the connoisseur - the young portrait of Napoleon is beautifully sculpted by Duvivier, and carries a crisp gleam only achievable when exquisite workmanship meets exquisite preservation in an elite metal. White and flashy in color, punctuated in places by a light but appealing golden bloom floating over the surfaces; the overall effect of this offering is outstanding, and it is very rare indeed to find an early and large size Napoleonic medal such as this in this metal or condition. Sure to attract spirited bidding, a premium offering.
