Napoleon I. First Empire (1804-14). Coronation at Milan silvered bronze Medal 1805 UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Bramsen-418, Julius-1378, by Andrieu & Denon. 40.5mm. Proudly commemorating the crowning of Napoleon as 'King of Italy', this medal emanates nationalist pride, the obverse featuring Napoleon's proud portrait wearing his laureate crown, the reverse simply bearing a coronet, sending the simple message; that Napoleon was now King. Boldly executed and attractively preserved, despite the certification the medal appears almost untouched, only light discoloration and the lightest verdigris present. A significant event of the Napoleonic wars, enticingly depicted in gleaming, silvered bronze.
