Napoleon I. First Empire (1804-14). Osterode bronze Medal 1807 MS63 Brown NGC, Bramsen-631, Julius-1733, by Andrieu. 40mm. Struck to commemorate Napoleon's military headquarters at Osterode, this high-relief specimen exhibits variegated brown toning and pleasing eye appeal. The reference to Fabius Cunctator, a prominent Roman general, alludes to that man's rise from relative obscurity to the apex of achievement and power, much like the development of Napoleon's own explosive career.
