Napoleon I. First Empire (1804-14). Marriage of Napoleon to Marie-Louise of Austria silver Medal 1810 AU, Bramsen-952, by Galle & J. P. Droz. 26mm. Intensely visually appealing, only the lightest rub on the highest points of the already high-relief devices detracting from the grade; the remainder is crisp and swamped with a rich patina which at first appears dark, but on examination reveals hints of gold and rainbow iridescence. A lovely medal which gives a glimpse into the personal life of Bonaparte.
