Napoleon I. First Empire (1804-14). Wine Trade in Paris silver Medal 1811 MS60 NGC, Essling-2151, by Desboufs. 34mm. A very seldom-seen Napoleonic issue medal, a strong white in color save for a startlingly iridescent blue-red patina in the upper peripheries. Some contact marks present to the cheek and fields commensurate with the lower-tier Mint State certification but Mint State nonetheless, and an attractive and desirable piece - the example sold at the Essling sale in June 1927 realized 110 Francs, impressive for the time.
