Napoleon I. First Empire (1804-14). Abdication of Napoleon silvered bronze Medal 1814 AU/UNC, Bramsen-1385, by Brenet. 41mm. Struck on the occasion of Napoleon's abdication in April 1814, after which he was subsequently exiled to Elba; he chooses to express his anger at this indignation through the depiction of a snarling Fury, Greco-Roman goddesses of vengeance. The silvering is near complete save for on the highest points hence the fringe grade, the dynamic devices solidly struck. A rare opportunity to obtain the commemorative of an extremely significant event in the Napoleonic conflict, and masterfully executed in Napoleon's own chosen style.
