Schulten 2416. Obverse: crowned bust of Maximilian holding orb and scepter; reverse: conjoined arms, date in Roman numerals above. Nordlingen was an imperial free city in Swabia, now in Bavaria. The mayor, a relative of the archbishop of Mainz, issued these batzen during the reigns of Maximilian and Charles V (one thaler = 40 batzen). Toned, PCGS VERY FINE-20 Secure Holder.
