PAPHLAGONIA, Sinope. Circa 230-200 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 17.93 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, E and akrostolion above ΣI; monogram below throne. Price 1254; Newell, Sinope –; HGC 7, 400. Good VF, toned, numerous cleaning scratches under tone. Very rare, one in Pella (cited by Price), seven in CoinArchives, one in ANS Photofile.
