Murdan Ali Khan was commissioned Jemadar in 1857; promoted Ressaidar in 1860, Risaldar in 1883 and later became Risaldar Major (the most senior Indian Officer in the regiment). He was awarded the Order of British India 1st Class on 15/12/1889.
