IRISH COINS, Edward IV (1461-1483), Heavy Cross and Pellets coinage (c. 1465-70), Dublin, mm. cross on obv. only, bust B, pellets on shoulders, rev. nothing in centre, extra pellet in two quarters, 0.59g/10h (Burns Du-10H; S 6311B). On a relatively large flan for issue, very fine and very rare £200-260

Remarkable for having pellets struck over the top of the bust, this extremely rare variant was only known to Burns from one specimen. It is interesting to note that this specimen is struck from a completely new set of dies which differs in having additional pellets in the opposite quarters of the reverse to that illustrated in Burns, p.48
