Irish Pennies of Edward Iv, Edward V and Richard III from the Collection of Oisin Mac Conamhna
IRISH COINS, Edward IV (1461-1483), Second Cross and Pellets coinage, Drogheda, mm. rose (?), pellets by crown, rev. quatrefoil in centre, no extra pellets, 0.57g/9h (Burns Dr-9A; S –). Nearly very fine, dark tone £150-200

As with the previous lot, this piece appears to comply to the high weight standard at 0.59g. In July 1473 all mint activity was restricted to Dublin and the weight standard lowered. The issue, which lasted until August 1474 under Lynche, is not represented here but is illustrated by Mac Conamhna as fig. 5, no. 14
