A distinctively German design is seen on this foreign bank note prepared by Giesecke & Devrient for circulation in German interests in China, mostly in Shandong province. These notes, along with German development in China, were dashed after the end of World War I, when most of the holdings were transferred to Japan. All details are well preserved on this remainder.
