Ang Duong white metal Pattern Tical CS 1208 (1847) MS61 NGC, KM-PnA2. An extremely rare pattern issue of this elegant and popular type with the Hamza bird motif, the present offering pleasantly sets soft graphite tones against extremely crisp, almost chizeled devices and hints of prooflike luster to produce a stunning visual effect. Seldom do examples of this pattern exhibit such a frosty and nearly blemish-free appearance as does this piece, while only the slightest of handling marks and a light scuff under the central arch of the temple prevent a higher grade. Nevertheless, this certainly remains a Gem for the type and is sure to add unparalleled beauty to any collection of Southeast Asian coins. This same example previously hammered for an impressive $8500 in Stephen Album's Rare Coin Auction 13 (May 2012, Lot 1464), and is cited as the premier auction reference in Krause. We expect this opportunity to bring spirited bidding, and it will surely require bidders to place their best bids.
