Hsüan-t'ung Pattern "Long-whiskered Dragon" silver Dollar Year 3 (1911) MS63 NGC, Tientsin Mint, L&M-29, KM-Pn305, Kann-223b, Chang-CH33, WS-0040. Full mint brilliance, with the slightest hint of golden patina. The strike is bold and the surfaces display only minor marks. A stunning example of this iconic issue. Obv. Four Manchu characters above central circle, with floral designs at sides and date (3rd year of Hsuen Tung) below, in the center are four Hanzi characters saying "Silver Coin of the great Qing Dynasty". Rev. A distinct, new-style dragon with extremely long whiskers and the denomination (ONE DOLLAR) below in small English characters. An extremely rare Pattern issue, possibly struck by Italian designers, that was never struck for general circulation.
