An exceptional rarity and the key to the British India Rupee series, this premium offering is definitively struck and with much remaining luster throughout its surfaces. The 'scratch' commensurate with the certification is rather light, running from around 12-2 o'clock on the obverse; however, it does not distract from what is otherwise a strong AU coin. We have been fortunate to have handled multiple examples of this extremely scarce type over the last few years, and the most recent 'details' type we have sold achieved an impressive $12,925 in our September 2012 Long Beach sale. We are thus certain that this enticing specimen will attract considerable bidder attention.
