Rama III copper Proof 2 Keping CS 1197 (1835) PR63 Brown PCGS, Birmingham mint, KM-Tn2. Obv. Lotus blossom with the date CS 1197 (1835). Rev. Muang Thai ("Thailand") between two radiant stars. Produced in England as samples for a medium to replace the circulating cowries. Rama III did not approve and these pieces were never adopted for general circulation. Struck at the Birmingham mint in a tiny number of only 500 pieces.
