CYPRUS. Kition. Baalmelek II, circa 425-400 BC. Stater (Silver, 24 mm, 10.88 g, 7 h). Herakles in fighting stance to right, wearing lion skin, holding club overhead in right hand and bow extended before him in left hand. Rev. 𐡊𐡋𐡌𐡋𐡁𐡋 ('l b'lmlk' in Aramaic) Lion attacking stag right; all within dotted border within incuse square. BMC 35. SNG Copenhagen 9-10. Tziambazis 19. An unusually clear example without the usual heavy die wear. Very fine.
