ΒΑΡΑΤЄωN ΚΟΙ ΛΥΚΑΟΝΙΑС Lucius Verus on horseback to right, spearing fallen Parthian. BMC 3 = RPC IV online 7232 = Von Aulock, Lykaonien, 27. Extremely rare, apparently the second and best known example. Very fine.


The monograms on the obverse stand for Armeniakos, Parthikos, Medikos. They refer to Verus' eastern campaign and date the coin to the years 166-169.
