SICILY. Katane. Circa 461-450 BC. Litra (Silver, 12 mm, 0.77 g, 6 h). Head of Silenos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and an animal ear. Rev. KAT-ANE Winged thunderbolt; two shields flanking. Boehringer, Kataneische, Series I, Li 1. SNG ANS 1238. Beautifully toned and of splendid style. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
