Septimius Severus Æ33 of Laodicea ad Mare, Seleucis and Pieria(?). AD 193-211. IMP CAES [..] [SEVERVS] PERTINAX AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right; c/ms: COL, CAΓ and uncertain / Uncertain legend, two standing figures (Caracalla and Geta?) sacrificing over altar. For countermarks, cf. Howgego 581 and 586; Naville 36, 268; CNG 181, 269; CNG 41, 1475. 15.93g, 33mm, 1h.

Near Very Fine. Very Rare; only three other examples on CoinArchives.

This very rare issue has tentatively been assigned to the mint of Laodicea ad Mare on the basis of the countermarks shared by the few known examples.
