The mintmark of this, and associated issues, is a cryptogram: the central portion reads epωc, which in Latin is 'amor' (love). Amor itself is a palindrome of Roma, which was a device well known to the well read, having been employed by both Virgil in the Aeneid, and the poet Sidonius Apollinaris.
