Late Roman or Byzantine Æ Phallic Oil Lamp (?). Circa AD 100-400. The hollow shaft is circular in section, ending with a prominent and projecting semi-conical pierced head separated by an incised groove. There is a further incised groove around the shaft, and two hemispherical testes project diagonally downwards, at the lipped base end. 75.34g, 107mm long.
Condition as seen. Even and stable pale green 'find patina'; minor corrosion hole in groove between shaft and head.
