THESSALY, Thessalian League. Circa 196-27 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 6.25 g, 12 h), Eupalides and Hegesaretos, struck circa late 2nd to mid 1st century BC. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑ - ΛΩΝ // [Ε]YΠΑ-ΛΙΔΟ[Υ] / Κ-Α / [ΗΓ]ΗΣΑΡΕΤΟ[Υ] Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand, and with a shield over her left arm. BCD Thessaly II 865.2. Nicely struck on a broad flan. Extremely fine.
