IONIA. Achaemenid Period. Uncertain satrap, Circa 340-334 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 12 mm, 1.98 g). BA Persian king or hero in kneeling-running stance to right, holding spear and bow; on neck, traces of a countermark of a star. Rev. Irregular incuse in the form of a map of the hinterland of Ephesos (?). Mildenberg, Münzwesen pp. 25-26 & pl. XIII, 112. Very rare and in eexcellent condition for the issue; dark glossy patina. Very fine.
