CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 3.19 g, 11 h), imitating Philip III. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, on his right, eagle standing right; to left, monogram. Göbl OTA pl. 45, 591/2 var. Lanz 939. Toned and of amusing style. Very fine.
