PONTOS. Uncertain mint. Late 1st century BC. (Bronze, 21 mm, 7.28 g, 12 h), Amisus (?). Bare male head to right; below neck Q. Rev. EETIA Two figures sacrificing a pig. RPC I 2156. SNG Leypold 69. Rare; only a few existing and most of them in worse condition compared to our specimen. Off centered reverse as usual, otherwise, good very fine.
The style of the portrait as well as the presence of the Q (quaestor) is reminiscent of the coinage of an uncertain Roman colony, possibly located in Cilicia (RPC I 5409).
