ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 500-463 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 9.35 g), c. 500-480 BC. Ithyphallic satyr advancing to right, carrying protesting nymph. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Le Rider, Thasiennes 2. SNG Copenhagen 1009. Sharp and nicely toned. Somewhat rough surfaces, otherwise, about extremely fine.
