THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 2nd century BC. AR Stater (20mm, 6.65 g, 1h). Pytheos/Pytheas and Krat–, magistrates. Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath; [ΠY]ΘEOY to left / ΘEΣΣA-ΛΩN, Athena Itonia advancing right; facing head of Helios to right, grain ear to inner right; K-R/A-T in two lines across central field. BCD Thessaly II 856.4 (same dies); HGC 4, 208. Near VF, lightly toned. Rare.
