SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.77 g, 6h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Karrhai mint. Struck circa 310-290 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monogram within circle below throne. SC 41.3b var. (controls in left field); WSM 7 var. (same; obv. die A3); HGC 9, 10a. Near VF, softly struck, light deposits, slight roughness. Unpublished variety without left field controls.
