(x) Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, 1.58g, First Hand type, Leicester, Styrcar, + æÐelred rex anglorx, the ng and orx ligate, diademed and draped bust right, in solid inner circle, rev. + styrcar m¯o liger, Hand of Providence dividing alpha and omega (N.766; S.1144), a slightly wavy flan and a little discoloured but nearly extremely fine.
