Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. AR antoninianus (22 mm, 4.63 g, 12 h). Rome, A.D. 244. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right / P-ROVI-D AVG, Providentia standing facing, head left, holding wand over globe set at feet to left, and scepter. RIC 148; RSC 296. Wonderful centering and obverse strike, reverse struck from a slightly worn die. Nicely toned, small deposit on obverse edge. Extremely fine / very fine.
