Edward the Confessor, (1042-66), Penny, transitional pyramids type, 1.19g, Dover, Wulfweard, eadpard rex a, crowned bust facing, drapery joined at breast with cross not annulet, rev. pvlfpvrd on dof, voided short cross, pyramids in angles (EMC 1992.0283, same dies; N.835; BMC XIV; S.1185), cracked in three parts, otherwise complete, the face scuffed, only very fine but extremely rare.
