THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 1st century BC. AR Stater (21.5mm, 6.10 g, 12h). Damothoinos and Philoxenides, magistrates. Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath / ΘΕΣΣΑ-ΛΩΝ, Athena Itonia advancing right, holding shield and preparing to hurl spear; ΔAM-OΘO[I]/NO[Y] above; [Φ]IΛOΞENI in exergue. BCD Thessaly II 870.3; HGC 4, 210. Good VF, toned, struck with worn obverse die, light scratch in field on reverse.
