ITALY, Venezia (Venice). temp. Cristoforo Moro. 1462-1471. Cast Æ Medal (90mm, 190.85 g, 12h). Attributed to Giovanni Boldù (fl. 1454-1475). Dated 1466 (in Roman numerals). ANTONIVS PIVS AVGVSTVS, laureate and draped youthful bust of Caracalla left / IO SON FINЄ, young male seated right on tree stump in attitude of weeping; to right, small Genius seated facing slightly right, head slightly left, leaning on skull and holding torch; in exergue, date within incuse square. Kress 143; Hill pl. 80, 423; Pollard 164. Good VF, scattered marks, two casting flaws. Attractive large medal.
