KINGS OF ELYMAIS. Kamnaskires IV. Circa 64/3-54/3 B.C. AR tetradrachm. 14.19 gm. 29 mm. Travelling (Court) mint. Dated SE 2[5(6-9)] (57-53 B.C.). His diademed and bearded bust left; countermark to right: Nike standing left, holding wreath and palm frond, all within rectangular incuse / IACIΛEΛI above, [K]AΠNAIKIPOY to right, TOY EΓ IAIIΛΛE[ΛI] to left, [KA]ΠNAIK[IP] below, Zeus-Belos enthroned left, holding scepter in left hand and Nike in outstretched right hand; monogram to inner left; [...N]Σ (date) in exergue. Cf. van't Haaff Type 8.3.2-3 (drachm; example without c/m). Alram 461 (example with c/m, but date off flan). Near Extremely Fine; bold, fine style portrait; well struck countermark. Exceptional for issue. Very rare.
