MALAYSIA. Pahang. 1/25 Dollar Tampang Tin Hat Money, AH 1281 (1864/5).
71.37 x 72.52 x 21.48 mm; 89.89 gms. SS-Pg.141#15; Opitz-Pg.351. Rosettes in corners with floral design in between all within square border; Reverse: Jawi inscription "Pada awal bulan Rabi'al Thani ini belanja Pahang Dari Tarikh sanat 1281"(On the first of the month of Rabi al Thani this currency of Pahang [was sanctioned] in the year AH1281=1864). Rabi al Thank is the fourth month of the Hijra year which commenced on 3 September 1864. Well made with nearly complete Jawi inscription and only minor casting holes. Quite nice for the series which is usually plagued with large casting holes and tin pest. VERY FINE.
