Royal Academy of Music Parepa Rosa Prize Medal, 1893, in bronze (42mm), by G.Morgan, obverse bust of Euphrosyne Parepa-Rosa right, reverse, laurel wreath in outer band and in the central disc the name, 'Royal Academy Of Music' at the top and, 'Instituted 1822' at bottom, in the centre is inscribed, 'Reginald/Brophy/1893'. Slightest rubbing on high point, otherwise uncirculated.
Reginald Brophy, born at Swansea, Wales went on to become a tenor with Opera Scotland. He passed away in 1910 at the age of 36 and at the time was the Principal Tenor at Westminster Cathedral.
