Edom (Idumaea), 4th century B.C., silver quarter shekel or drachm (4.12 g), Imitating Athens, obv. helmeted head of Athena right, degraded to nearly plain bulge, rev. Owl standing right, head facing, olive spray to right, AQ[E] on right, (Hendin 1025; HGC 10, 616 [R2]) (illustrated); a similar example of a silver obol, (0.88 g), similar for obv. and rev, on a square flan, (Hendin 1026, HGC 10, 618 [R2]). Find patina, struck from worn dies (as made), very fine for issue and very rare. (2)
