Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 208, (3.00 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around PM TR P XVI, Severus on horseback pacing right, holding spear, preceded by foot soldier holding spear and shield, (S.6351, RIC 225A, RSC 573) (illustrated); Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 228, Rome mint, (3.04 g), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. ANNO NA AVG, Annona standing to left, foot on prow holding corn ears and cornucopiae, (S.7858, RIC 187, RSC 27). Toned, very fine - extremely fine. (2)
