British War Medal 1914-18. 5309 Pte. R.A.Colls. 18-Bn. A.I.F. Impressed. Toned, good very fine.

Also awarded a Military Medal.

MM: LG 14/5/1919, p6056; CAG 15/9/1919, p1365.

Recommendation: In the advances east of Amiens on 8th and 9th August 1918 he displayed very great gallantry. In particular, on the 9th August 1918 when the machine gun fire was exceptional, Private Colls worked unceasingly as a stretcher bearer from 4.30 p.m. until severely wounded at about 8 p.m. Casualties were very heavy during this time. He several times attended to men lying wounded in front of our general line; during all his work he displayed absolute disregard for his own safety.

Reginald Arthur Colls, stockman and labourer, age 31, born at Young, NSW; Enl.24Feb1916 at RAS Grounds, Sydney, NSW; Emb.22Aug1916; TOS 18Bn 26Jan1917; WIA 09Aug1918 GSW face, France; RTA 19Jun1919; Disch.22Sep1919.
($130-150)
