Sydney badge/brooch in gilt and enamel (pin missing from reverse), features ship's wheel in gilt with enamelled ship's crest in centre; Returned Soldiers & Sailors Imperial League badge (KC) two-figure type, reverse numbered 55544; WWI period b&w postcard featuring H.M.A.S. Sydney (unused but tape marks on reverse at each corner.

Frederick Turner, born 25May1880 at Derby, Derbyshire, England; joined RAN at Sydney 01Mar1913 for 3 years on loan from RN and subsequently rejoined at end of his terms of engagement on 14Aug1917, 12Jan1919, 12Jan1924, 12Jan1925 and 12Jan1926; Disch.07Jun1928 at London. He served on various RAN ships and shore establishments including on HMAS Sydney as Chief Electrician 27Jun1913 - 30Sep1920, seeing service in the German New Guinea Campaign and in WWI including the Sydney-Emden engagement.
