The Sydney Teacher College ceased to exist in 1981 and was succeeded by Sydney College of Advanced Education (S.C.A.E.). This organisation was disestablished in 1989 with the creation of four institutes at the university, UTS, Sydney, one of these being Institute of Technical and Adult Teacher Education (I.T.A.T.E.).
