THESSALY, Pharsalos. 4th-3rd centuries BC. Æ Trichalkon (19mm, 6.89 g, 5h). Helmeted head of Athena facing slightly left; [spear to left], shield to right / [ΦΑΡ-Σ]-A-ΛIΩ, Thessalian cavalryman, holding flail, on horse rearing right; to left, footman advancing right, holding mace. Lavva 318 var. (V–/R226 [unlisted obv. die]); Rogers 505; BCD Thessaly II 674; HGC 4, 649. VF, green and brown patina, a little rough, some smoothing on reverse.
